Bunbury Senior High School (SHS) is seeking an energetic and passionate Health and Physical Education Teacher to join their high performing team environment.
The successful applicant will be innovative and enthusiastic in the promotion of Health and Physical Education within the school. This includes the Bunbury Elite Sports Training (BEST) program, a high-profile specialist program within the community that has enjoyed considerable success by supporting elite adolescent athletes to achieve at the highest level. We are seeking a highly skilled, committed and versatile teacher to value-add to the BEST Program and the lower school Health and Physical Education curriculum.
Health and Physical Education teachers at Bunbury SHS are required to support the school’s interschool sporting endeavours and contribute to the improvement of the wider school community. The successful applicant will be well organised, committed to self-improvement and be motivated towards developing positive relationships and high expectations for all students.
At Bunbury SHS there is an expectation that all teachers will engage in reflective practice, informed by classroom observations, students feedback surveys and close examination of student performance data while participating in productive, professional learning communities. There is also an expectation that teachers will use a consistent, whole-school approach to both lesson design and pedagogical practice.
Our school was established in 1918 and is built on an impressive site on one of the city of Bunbury's highest points, Boulter's Heights. It is the fourth oldest government school in the state; thus is entrenched in history and has very loyal and strong support from a large and diverse group of former students, parents and staff.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
