About the role
We are seeking a suitably experienced person to fill the position of Corporate Communications Officer.
The Office of the Director General is responsible for the development and implementation of reforms, strategies, policies and initiatives across the Department and the culture and arts portfolio.
The Office of the Director General is responsible for the Ministerial, executive, strategic planning and performance reporting, corporate governance, corporate communications, freedom of information, internal audit and legal functions.
Working in partnership across the Department, Corporate Communications is responsible for strategic, proactive internal and external communications, stakeholder engagement and issues planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. The Corporate Communications Officer will be part of a team, with a focus on internal and external communications. The position may be required to undertake other Office of the Director General projects and initiatives.

Conditions
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment.
While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants found suitable for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within DLGSC and/or the wider public sector which arise within six months of the recruitment process being endorsed. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Future vacancies may be considered fixed term, part-time or full-time.
Location
The DLGSC Office of the Director General is based at 246 Vincent Street Leederville, however the Corporate Communications Officer may be required to work from Gordon Stephenson House, 140 William Street, Perth at times.
