About the role
Six month opportunity, with possibility of extension, to contribute to offender rehabilitation.
The role of this position is to:
- Conduct clinical interviews with sentenced prisoners to assess treatment suitability, responsivity factors and sequencing of interventions.
- Administer, score and interpret psychometric assessment tools to determine risk of recidivism and criminogenic treatment needs.
- Prepare Treatment Assessment Reports for inclusion in offender’s Individual Management Plans.
About you
A 4-year accredited degree in Psychology or Social Work is an essential requirement for this position.
The position also requires:
- Knowledge of offender rehabilitation and how this relates to the assessment and treatment of offending behavior.
- Good oral and written communication skills, including the demonstrated understanding of effective interviewing techniques.
- Effective planning and organisational skills to achieve goals within the determine timeframes.
- The ability to conceptualise and utilise analytical skills in the assessment of individuals’ needs, including an acknowledgement and appreciation of a breath of cultural, social and personal differences.
A C Class Driver’s License is highly desirable as this position will be required to work across a number of prison locations within the metropolitan area and will therefore involve travel.
All employees are required to undergo employment screening, which includes a National Criminal History Check and other checks that may be relevant to the position requirements.
