This is a Fixed Term Full Time appointment for 12 months with the possibility of extension.
About the position: This newly established position represents an exciting opportunity to play a key role in providing financial reform for the RPBG; and transforming existing structures for the delivery of sustainable financial management through ensuring strategies and actions are aligned to meet Outcome Based Management (OBM) deliverables. As the Director Corporate Services and Financial Reform you will report directly to the Executive Director of the RPBG, providing strategic leadership to ensure the organisation delivers high quality and efficient services. This encompasses; financial and asset management, corporate services including contracting and site Human Resources as well as financial reform. As part of the executive team you will ensure the financial reform program meets the group’s Hospital safety, quality and performance frameworks, and you will be accountable for the financial position of the organisation. You will also provide expert advice and support to a range of internal stakeholders including clinicians, corporate leaders and the Executive Director.
To be successful in this role you will have a demonstrated high level understanding of contemporary accounting principles and standards and fiscal management requirements, as they apply in a public sector environment. In addition, you will have excellent strategic management skills and demonstrated capability leading financial reform in a large and complex service delivery environment. Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, relationship building and liaison skills will also be of critical importance as will team leadership and management. A recognised professional qualification in accounting/finance or related discipline is an essential requirement.
Although not essential, relevant knowledge of the health service context is highly desirable.
About the RPBG: The Royal Perth Bentley Group (RPBG) provides care within the East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS), in Western Australia, and incorporates both Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) and Bentley Hospital.
RPH is a 450-bed tertiary hospital offering an extensive range of services including: adult major trauma, complex and elective surgery, highly specialised surgical services, tertiary mental health, specialist medical services and a range of same-day clinical support services. RPH also has one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Australia and the second biggest trauma workload in the country. As a premier teaching hospital, RPH has a number of joint appointments with various universities and has established a global reputation in research and innovation. The Bentley Health Service is a 199 bed public hospital providing specialist care in rehabilitation, community child and adolescent health, aged care and mental health.
