Bentley Primary School (PS) is seeking to appointment a teacher to a permanent, full-time position for the commencement of term 2 2019. Bentley PS is located in the rapidly growing inner-metropolitan suburb of Bentley, 8km south-east of Perth, Western Australia. The school opened in 1953 and in 2019, with an approximate student population of 185, offers a Kindergarten to Year 6 Primary education. The school population reflects the highly multicultural nature of the suburb, and it is anticipated that major regeneration developments are likely to see the School’s student numbers expand rapidly over the next several years.
The successful applicant will implement effective, innovative and engaging learning programs for students and contribute to effective curriculum delivery through collaborative processes. The successful applicant will be passionate about their work, possess outstanding interpersonal skills and have an ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. In particular, suitable applicants should be able to establish the following by the integration of digital technologies across the curriculum. Be skilled in the components of our Whole School Practices in English and Numeracy, in particular Talk 4 Writing, Letters and Sounds and Brightpath assessment. Support their own Professional Learning through active participation in Professional Learning Communities and Peer Observations and the successful applicant will possess a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in teams and mentor other staff.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
