Geraldton Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Teacher - Mathematics to join their team.
The successful applicant will be student and relationship focused, enthusiastic, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. You will engage in ongoing self-reflection and assess the effectiveness of teaching practice to create an environment conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities which provide purposeful and relevant learning experiences that cater for different student learning needs. Suitable applicants will also actively participate in planning around curriculum and programs to address the school’s core expectations.
Geraldton Senior High School caters for students in Years 7, 10, 11 and 12. We will further expand in 2020 (Year 8) and 2021 (Year 9) enabling young people to complete their entire secondary education at our school.
Our belief is that every child comes to us with unique experiences, learning styles and goals. From this we provide a broad comprehensive education with pathways leading to attainment of an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR), Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications or future employment. We encourage each student to participate in a range of state and national competitions, and to take up extra-curricular activities in music, drama, dance and sport.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
