Leeming Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and proactive individual to join their team.
To be successful in this role, you will possess the skills and knowledge to reflect and assess the effectiveness of teaching practice to create an environment that is supportive to learning and provides educational opportunities that cater for different student learning needs. Leeming SHS is a leader in the innovative use of ICT in student learning and school management. All staff are provided with the use of a tablet in an environment where all rooms are wireless integrated and have installed data projectors or equivalent technology. The successful applicant will also be highly proficient in motivating and engaging students, promoting an environment of active and positive learning that enables all students to achieve their highest potential.
Working closely with students, teachers, and the community you will develop and deliver the Australian Curriculum and the full range of Senior School courses to achieve the best educational outcomes for students. You will demonstrate an ability to work as a collaborative team member and you will be committed to the development of strong professional learning communities focussed on student achievement and success. Holding a current Certificate IV in TAE and the ability to teach Certificate II Outdoor Education, and Sport and Recreation is advantageous as is holding a current Surf Life Saving Bronze Medallion, Resuscitation qualifications and a current Bus Licence. A willingness to be involved in extra curricula coaching would be desirable, along with the ability to teach in other learning areas across all secondary year levels.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
