The Role
The Senior Passenger Assistant is responsible for maintaining a high passenger profile during the course of a train service, including providing assistance, information, comfort, safety and security to passengers as required. You will supervise the Passenger Assistant(s) and liaise with railcar drivers in regard to train operations, assist with safeworking as required and implement emergency procedures when necessary. Additional responsibilities include selling tickets to en route passengers as needed and distributing pre-paid tickets as necessary as well as ensuring on board facilities, equipment and amenities are kept in a clean and operational condition.
To be suitable for this role you need strong customer service skills with an ability to develop a rapport with external stakeholders. You also need sound problem solving skills in order to resolve customer complaints.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for 12 months from which permanent and/or fixed term appointments with possibility of extensions will be made.
