About the role
We are seeking a suitably qualified person with demonstrated experience in project management to fill the position of Principal Strategy and Project Officer.
In this role, you will:
- manage the coordination, planning, design and delivery of capital works projects within the department.
- develop and deliver infrastructure programs and funding, including preparing business cases and developing and implementing delivery processes and reporting frameworks required by the Strategic Asset Management Framework
- plan, develop and implement strategic initiatives aimed at optimising asset performance.
- facilitate the development and implementation of strategic goals and plans and translate these into clearly articulated programs, projects and operational plans to be actioned.
- develop, implement and engage in across government partnerships for infrastructure, precinct planning and strategies.
This opportunity is being offered as a fixed term contract or secondment to accommodate parental leave and as such is subject to the various entitlements surrounding that leave.
The intended contract is to 3 January 2020, however this is subject to the possible early return of the substantive occupant or possible extension, should it be requested.
At the conclusion of the initial engagement, an extension or variation to working hours may be offered if the parental leave is extended. The department may choose to appoint permanently or to readvertise the opportunity should the occupant not return.

Conditions
A current (within six months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within the DLGSC and/or the wider public sector which arise within a reasonable period of time. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Future vacancies may be considered fixed term, part- time and full- time.

This position is located in the Perth CBD, currently at the State Library of WA.
