Greenough is a large complex, regional prison with a number of operational and infrastructure challenges in the short and medium term. We require an experienced operational leader who will drive and influence a staff and offender focussed culture.
To acknowledge the unique requirements of the role a generous remuneration package will be offered to the successful person, details of which will be discussed at interview.

Role
Superintendents play an essential role in ensuring community safety through the delivery of security, safety and rehabilitation in custodial facilities. They are responsible for establishing healthy and humane environments that improve life chances for prisoners on release to reduce reoffending.
Superintendents provide direction and management of the prison in accordance with statutory requirements and operating procedures, ensuring best practice service delivery standards are met.
Superintendents are leaders and role models who influence and shape the culture of the workplace and are expected to develop and maintain strong external stakeholder relationships in the community. They are expected to improve performance across all the custodial estate, particularly in the provision of culturally competent services to address the needs of Aboriginal prisoners.

In order to fulfil the role of a Superintendent, applicants are required to provide leadership with the utmost personal integrity whilst building long term relationships. To be appointed to a position you must:
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or hold Australian permanent residency
- Possess a valid drivers’ licence
- Undergo a National Criminal History and Departmental integrity assessment.
