This pool recruitment process (Ref 00284) will run for a period of 12 months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts, secondments, acting/relieving and permanent opportunities (full and part time).
Currently there are two (2) full-time vacancies located at Geraldton and Kalgoorlie.
Note: This pool recruitment process will be used to fill future vacancies that may occur in the Perth metropolitan area and Regional WA (Broome, Karratha, Northam, Bunbury and Albany).
Accommodation may be available for the positions located in Regional WA, subject to eligibility. No accommodation is available in Bunbury.
POSITION OBJECTIVE
This role contributes to the provision of accurate, timely and meaningful intelligence through assisting with the research, collection, collation, analysis and dissemination of information from all sources. Liaises with internal and external agencies in order to assist Senior Intelligence Analysts identify crime trends and patterns and produce Intelligence Products.
SPECIALIST PRE-REQUISITE
It is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining and maintaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 1 security clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to hold and maintain the NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 1 security clearance. Any applicants who are currently not an Australian Citizen must be aware that this is an essential requirement to fulfil this position (please refer to the attached position description). Whilst there is nothing to preclude applicants from applying for the position if they have not yet been granted Australian Citizenship, applicants who are successful should be aware that they cannot be appointed unless they are in the process of applying for Australian Citizenship and are eligible to receive a waiver.
Deployment to certain areas will require NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 2.

Applicants are asked to address the following nominated work related requirements in no more than three (3) pages:
- Analytical and conceptual ability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of personal computers with the ability to develop databases and graphic displays.
Applicants are also required to submit a Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills and experience and qualifications relevant to the Accountabilities/Duties of the attached Position Description Form.
The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) contemporary referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements.
Please note: For applicants deemed suitable, all Essential Work Related Requirements listed in the Position Description Form will be assessed at some stage during the selection process.
INTERVIEW PROCESS
Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend a ‘scenario-based’ interview in person. As such, it is the intention of the selection panel to conduct interviews in Perth, Geraldton and Kalgoorlie only, if required.
Subject to confirmation of scheduling, interviews will be conducted during the month of February 2019 at any of the above mentioned locations.
OTHER CONDITIONS
In addition to the two (2) current vacancies (Geraldton & Kalgoorlie), a POOL is being created to fill future vacancies that may arise throughout the state. This POOL will remain active for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial appointment, unless changes are required to meet organisational needs or a changing employment market dictate that the role should be readvertised. Applicants who are assessed as ‘suitable’ at the completion of this process, will be placed in the POOL and may be considered for future permanent and temporary vacancies as they become available.
Once an applicant within the POOL accepts a permanent vacancy offer, that applicant will be removed from the POOL. Applicants who accept a temporary vacancy will remain in the POOL.
Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicants for these positions are not current WA Police Force employees. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to these positions may be the responsibility of the successful applicants.
