Kent Street Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint a permanent, full time Digital Technologies Teacher.
Suitable applicants should possess superior interpersonal skills and the capacity to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment with students, teachers and the wider community to achieve the best educational outcomes for our students. A willingness to lead curriculum development and pedagogy that meets the needs of Year 7 to Year 12 students is essential. Senior schooling curriculum currently includes Certificate courses only with a view to considering the introduction of ATAR and General courses in the future. Proven capacity to deliver an engaging curriculum to motivate and inspire students in WACE courses and at Certificate level is preferred. Vocational currency in Cert IV in TAE410116 or equivalent as well as a Certificate II in IT will best meet the business needs of the school. Attainment of a Certificate III in IT or a willingness to obtain this will be looked upon favourably. Only those with suitable qualifications and demonstrated experience in the delivery of Digital Technologies curriculum need apply.
As a Digital Technologies teacher you would participate as an integral member of the teaching team and be responsible for leading the collaborative approach to curriculum planning, providing learning programs to students suited to the needs of the school community and modelling exemplary teaching and learning strategies in your area of expertise. You will also need to be able to assist in the development and implementation of whole school initiatives resulting in innovative classroom practices.
Kent Street Senior High School is an Independent Public School located within 5 kilometres of the Perth CBD. We cater for a diverse clientele from across WA who travel great distances or reside at the Rotary Residential College located on our site to engage in our approved specialist programs. We also work as part of the Curtin Education Community to actively engage our local primary schools in the Victoria Park area. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
