Denmark Senior High School (SHS) is seeking an experienced Health and Physical Education Teacher. This position has a significant Outdoor Education component and experience in teaching Outdoor Education at both the Lower School and Senior School level is necessary. The successful applicant will ideally have experience and or qualifications to teach both water based and land based Outdoor Education units.
Denmark SHS is an accredited Specialist Basketball School and the successful applicant will have an important role in the delivery of this program. Experience in coaching basketball at a high level with Level One Coaching or equivalent experience being highly desirable.
The successful applicant will join a team of Health and Physical Education teachers and needs to have a collegial outlook on their teaching practice. They will be innovative and engaging in the delivery of the curriculum, whilst being flexible and able to undertake a variety of different roles in the Health and Physical Education Area.
Located in one of the most scenic towns in Western Australia, Denmark SHS was built on its present location in 2000. The school is positioned on 19 hectares of land bordering the Denmark River. Denmark Senior High School has modern, aesthetically designed facilities that cater for students from years 7 to 12.
There are approximately 400 students in our school. This makes for a highly inclusive and welcoming environment. Emphasis is placed on maximising student potential and striving for high academic standards while encouraging students to develop a sense of self-worth.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
