Appointment Pool
Atwell College is seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2019 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2019 school year.
Suitable applicants will reflect on and assess the effectiveness of teaching practice, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable all students to achieve their highest potential. With highly effective interpersonal skills, suitable applicants will work closely with students, colleagues and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students. Demonstrated capacity to teach ATAR courses and experience in teaching EALD courses will be viewed favourably.
Atwell College staff must be committed to developing genuine rapport with students and prioritising the development of a positive working environment to ensure student success. The ability to develop and apply strategies to improve literacy skills with students across all year levels will be highly desirable. The ability to work collaboratively and proactively in the English team and a willingness to take on a variety of roles within the department, including developing programs, writing assessments and ensuring differentiation for students with differing abilities is crucial. The suitable applicant will have experience using innovative teaching strategies across all contexts in the English Learning Area. They will have high expectations for all students, demonstrate a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and have the ability to establish and maintain a supportive and engaging classroom learning environment.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
