ROAD SAFETY COMMISSION
Administratively attached to the Western Australian Police Force, the Road Safety Commission is the lead agency for policy development, data analysis research and evaluation, community education, administration of the Road Trauma Trust Account and support for the Road Safety Council. The Commissioner for Road Safety reports directly to the Minister for Road Safety regarding work done to achieve the State’s vision of zero deaths and serious injuries on Western Australian roads.
POSITION OBJECTIVE
This position contributes to the work of the Commission by championing a strong evidence and evaluation culture, contributing to all aspects of the policy and research functions for the Commission; generating insights which enhances the Commission’s capability and decision-making; and providing high level policy and research support and advice.
To inform road safety policy, this position represents the Commission on inter-agency working groups and committees and develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders and partners including the Road Safety Council, the Minister for Road Safety, government and private sector organisations, industry and community groups.

The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Selection Criteria.
Please note: For applicants deemed suitable, all essential selection criteria - listed in the Position Description Form will be assessed at some stage during the selection process.
OTHER CONDITIONS
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies within the Commission. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial date of the appointment.
Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for this position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to this position may be the responsibility of the successful applicant.
