About the role
Successful applicants will be considered for casual engagements and provide quality camp experiences with a strong focus on customer service.
Applicants must possess a positive attitude, professionalism and the ability to work independently and in a team environment in varied environments. Successful candidates should have experience in providing sporting or outdoor instruction to youth in either a formal or informal setting.
Employment is seasonal, however during peak periods (Term 1 and Term 4) this can be up to three days per week for instructors who have a broad range of competencies. Employment is during business hours with some evening programs and weekend work available (no overnight stay required).
There is the possibility for work in DLGSC’s camps in the Perth Metropolitan area for those willing to travel, however this is not a common practice and should not be relied upon.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are flexible to work casual hours, the ability to communicate openly and effectively with a strong customer focus, the ability to work alone as well as in a team environment, and experience in the delivery of client services.

Conditions
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment and applicants must be able to obtain a current Working with Children Check if successful in their application.
Applicants will also need to obtain a First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003 Provide First Aid or higher) alongside a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate before being eligible for work.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within the DLGSC and/or the wider public sector which arise within a reasonable period of time. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Future vacancies may be considered.

Camp Quaranup, Vancouver Peninsula, Albany.
