Aboriginal Clerical Trainee

About the Role
The Kimberley Region is looking to offer a Clerical Traineeship to a reliable and enthusiastic person of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent to join their team in Derby. This is an exciting opportunity to join an industry leader and to kick-start your career within the Western Australian (WA) public sector. This is a 12 month opportunity, with the possibility of up to an additional 12 months.
The successful candidate will undertake hands on training in all aspects of business administration, such as reception duties, records management, accounts payable and a wide range of business service functions whilst undertaking completion of a Certificate III in Business Administration.
This is a fantastic learning and development role within a friendly and supportive team environment where you will be provided with the opportunity to develop new skills for the future.
As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience with Microsoft word, excel and outlook
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- An interest in working in an office environment
- An interest in learning new skills
To be considered for a traineeship you are required to meet the following criteria:
- An Australian citizen, permanent resident or a temporary resident with a valid working visa living in WA;
- Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent; and
- Minimum completion of year 10 or equivalent;
