We’re looking for
A highly experienced Unix Administrator to join our Enterprise Systems Support Team.
In this role you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration and management of hardware and software infrastructure environments. You will design and develop automated procedures and scripts to assist with the effective and efficient operations of the Department's Unix systems. You will apply your understanding of paging, swapping and inter-process communication as you conduct performance analysis to tune systems. You will undertake regular reviews of Unix environment to develop input to Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning. You will also utilise your substantial experience in maintenance and operational support of Oracle Solaris and Linux based systems.
This role is a fixed term appointment for a period of 2 Years with possibility of extension and/or permanency.
In this role you will be required to work after hours from time to time, and you will be included in the on-call roster.
We need someone who can
- Demonstrate substantial experience in operational support of Oracle Solaris and Linux based systems with specific experience with Solaris LDOMs.
- Use Symantec NetBackup and Unix scripting to support task automation and monitoring activities
- Cultivate strong, productive working relationships and partnerships
- Provide technical leadership and courageous advice to business, executive and technical teams.
- Communicate and influence range of stakeholders
Successful applicants will be required to hold or obtain a current National Police Clearance
