Appointment Pool
Mount Lawley Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool for fixed term appointments, full-time and part-time which may arise from Term 3, 2018 and up to the end of Term 3 2020. Placements can be made from the pool at any time for commencements Term 3, 2018 and up to the end of Term 3 2020.
As a School Officer you will be dedicated and enthusiastic and able to assist with the music program. Suitable applicants will provide clerical and administrative support including preparing and distributing correspondence, liaising with parents, operating and maintaining equipment, and submitting insurance claims. To be successful in this role you will be able to provide general assistance to students in the Music program including lesson rescheduling and music uniforms. It would be desirable for applicants to have knowledge of music, music tuition and/or music management.
Whilst initially being used in the Music Department, Suitable applicants may be required to work in other areas of the school including the main administration area.
Founded in 1955 and recently rebuilt, Mount Lawley SHS is located within a residential suburb 5 kilometres north of the Perth CBD. It comprises an award winning Middle School and Senior School. It hosts one of two Gifted and Talented Languages programs in the state and has a Specialist Arts and Jazz Music program.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Experience in providing general office administrative support with ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Ability to use computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including application of customer service principles and practices.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
