Southern River College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Network Support Officer to join their friendly team.
The role is a special project, supporting the College and a number of primary schools in our network and involves some local travel. The successful applicant will provide input on system enhancements and implement new systems through research and identification of appropriate Information Technology resources whilst providing technical support and training to all users throughout these schools, and provide advice and support to staff and students on tablets, laptops, desktops, servers, databases, web and software applications, as well as device management solutions. They will research and identify appropriate software packages and other resources, and assist with the installation and upgrading of Audio-visual and Information Technology systems. They will maintain accurate records of assets.

The College is a Year 7 to 12 comprehensive school catering for an array of students and their aspirations. The college has a new strategic direction and is offering Focus Programs aligned to our Minerals and Energy Academy. Students can undertake specialised studies in Academic, Technology and Trades Areas. In conjunction with our resource focus, students can specialise in soccer, netball and music, along with the normal Australian Curriculum requirements. There is a big focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Programs with strong links to Industry and Universities providing unique opportunities for students to achieve with and beyond the classroom.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Knowledge of network systems and platforms relevant to the operating environment.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills relevant to the operational maintenance of information technology networks.
- Sound organisational skills, including the ability to plan and implement data security procedures.
- Sound verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external clients.
- Practical experience in developing and implementing user-training procedures.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
