Balcatta Senior High School (SHS) an Independent Public School is seeking a dedicated and motivated Health and Physical Education teacher to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to deliver teaching and learning programs to motivate and encourage our students to value and engage in physical education and health.
It is highly desired that the applicant have the ability and expertise to teach lower and senior school Health and Physical Education courses including Health Studies. It is highly desirable that the applicant has the ability to be able to effectively teach Dance, Drama and Home Economics courses.
We are seeking applicants who will be committed to supporting the school vision by actively engaging all their students in vibrant and purposeful learning and supporting their social and academic development. Applicants should be committed to working effectively within a professionally learning community in the Health and Physical Education and Arts learning area and as part of the wider school community.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
