This 12 month contract is offered with the possibility for extensions or permanency subject to funding and conditions. Suitable applicants may be considered for future similar employment opportunities during the next six (6) months. A National Police Clearance is required prior to employment.
ChemCentre provides a comprehensive range of scientific services, working with a wide range of clients including Government Agencies, universities, environmental consultants, primary producers, exporters, retailers and the general public. The range of services allows ChemCentre clients to demonstrate the safety, quality and environmental impact of their products and practices.
This position is in the Occupational Health Section of Scientific Services Division. The Occupational Health Team provides analysis, consultancy and expert scientific advice to private and government clients in the areas of organic chemistry related to maintaining a safe working environment. The Team focuses on analyses and consultancies that are applicable to measurements such as respirable gases including air and contaminants such as fugitive gases, emissions, dusts, DPM, etc. There will be instances where knowledge of both inorganic chemistry and organic chemistry is required.
Our capabilities include:
- Collaborative research
- Laboratory and Field analysis of volatile organic compounds
- Identification of unknown solids, liquids and gases/vapours
To be selected for interview you will need to demonstrate experience in, and basic knowledge of organic analytical chemistry, analytical procedures and instrumental techniques applied to the analysis of environmental samples; and an understanding of laboratory safety.
