This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time appointments for 6-12 months with the possibility of extension(s).

Position Profile: The position is based in Perth with the Koorliny Moort team. Successful applicants to the position will be required to provide a clinical paediatric service to Aboriginal children within CAHS (PMH and CACH) under the supervision of consultant paediatricians. We have three positions within the program each year, one 12 month position and two six month positions. The successful applicants will manage outpatients both in the hospital setting and at Perth based outreach clinics. The applicants will undertake other clinical duties as directed by the head of department. The successful applicant will be required to participate in departmental meetings, to teach and to conduct research projects as directed. In addition, the successful applicant for our 12 month position will be required to assist in the supervision of the other two registrars and will be expected to complete a substantial research project contributing to the field of Aboriginal child health within their term. Successful applicants are encouraged to enrol in a higher education degree (eg Masters of public health) during their time with the team.
Area Profile:
- Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) will replace Princess Margaret Hospital for Children (PMH) when it opens in 2018. Should the project be delayed, you may be required to work at PMH until PCH opens.
- PCH is currently under construction and is located on the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre site in Nedlands, Perth.
- The 298-bed hospital will provide tertiary-level and key secondary level health services, in inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory care settings, to children and adolescents up to 16 years of age.
