Sport and Recreation is the lead agency responsible for the implementation of government policy and initiatives in sport and recreation in Western Australia. A key role of the department is to contribute to the healthy lifestyle of Western Australians by increasing physical activity in the community through sport and recreation.
We are seeking a suitably qualified person to fill the fixed term position of Regional Officer - Wheatbelt based in our Northam office.
In this role you will assist with the development of regional and local level partnerships with other Government departments, local government and community groups to lead the development of facilities and service planning and delivery in the Wheatbelt region.
You will also be networking, negotiating and liaising at a regional and local strategic level with external stakeholders.
The Regional Officer is required to work a minimum of one day per week from the Narrogin Office.
This position is fixed term until 08 March 2019 with a possibility of extension and/or permanency. At the conclusion of the initial engagement, an extension may be offered or the Department may choose to readvertise the opportunity.
