Toodyay District High School (DHS) is seeking an experienced and dedicated Teacher – Mathematics to join our professional learning community.
The successful applicant will be an outstanding educator possessing excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to provide students with the highest quality curriculum delivery within the Mathematics learning area. You will have thorough understandings of instructional and curriculum design whilst keeping abreast of the latest developments within the Learning Area.
The successful applicant will ideally be a collaborative teacher with the ability to work well in a team environment. They will provide students with a purposeful and engaging learning experience to develop their understanding and appreciation of mathematics. The successful applicant will have high expectations, a commitment to excellence, the ability to use a range of pedagogies and the ability to establish and maintain a positive and engaging classroom-learning environment. They will be committed to the development of strong professional learning communities focussed on student achievement and success.
Toodyay DHS, 85kms east of Perth, caters for Kindergarten to Year 10 students. Our specialised Early Childhood, Middle and Upper Primary Teachers with support staff, provide innovative and engaging classes. Our specialist teachers in high school deliver a diverse curriculum, enabling students to successfully proceed to Senior Schooling.
Toodyay DHS has a strong ethos of providing a warm, friendly and caring community, where every child is treated as a valued individual. We celebrate student success through programs such as ‘Whole School Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Faction Clubs’ and Reward Assemblies, where our students are acknowledged for their best efforts both in and out of the classroom. Students are supported via a year level coordinator whop they meet with regularly to support their good standing.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for permanent appointments to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
