Prison Industries within Western Australian adult prisons strive to make a positive difference to prisoners and the community through meaningful employment opportunities. Prisoners work in a number of industrial workshops including an abattoir, dairy, bakeries, laundries, kitchens, textiles and cabinet shops. Prison kitchens are critical to prisoner employment and efficient meal production utilising large volumes of fresh produce from prison farms.
Role
The Senior Project Officer (Catering) provides specialist support to prison superintendents on their kitchen operations, equipment requirements, alignment of prison menus to primary produce availability and budgets, training, food safety standards and audits.
