Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
Organisational Context: The Business Finance Unit within the Strategic Business Support Directorate is responsible for providing a wide range of budgeting and financial management services for the Department of Health (DoH). These services include:
- Providing financial management advice to DoH Divisions.
- Preparing the annual budgets and Service Agreements for DoH Divisions.
- Preparing financial reports for the DoH Executive team.
- Coordinating budget forecasting for DoH Divisions and actioning adjustments to DoH Divisional budgets, as required.
- Assisting with preparation of year-end financial reports including the End of Financial year Questionnaire and the Annual Report.
- Assisting with internal and external audit processes including the Office of the Auditor General.
The Business Services Unit is seeking a suitably experienced and qualified employee to undertake the role of Senior Finance Analyst until December 2018, with possibility of extension and/or permanency.
Role Statement: The Senior Finance Analyst is responsible for:
- Leading the Business Finance Team.
- Leading the development of the annual budgets and Service Agreements for the DoH Divisions.
- Providing specialised analysis and reporting of the financial and budgetary performance of the DoH Divisions. This includes collating and analysing data, identifying trends and risks, and liaising with relevant staff in the DoH Divisions.
- Working in partnership with and across the DoH Divisions to deliver budgeting and financial management services to customers.
- Consulting with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that financial and budgetary work undertaken by this team is completed within set timeframes.
- Leading financial management projects as required by the Chief Finance Officer and DoH Executive Team.
- Providing advice to the DoH Executive Team on financial and budgetary performance matters.
- Coordinating the preparation of relevant reports relating to the financial and budgetary performance of the DoH.
