This position is a fixed term opportunity from April 2018 for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
THE ROLE
As Manager of the Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management Branch, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals to deliver essential workers’ compensation and injury management services to DFES employees and eligible volunteers.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a busy, high pressure work environment, who can apply analytical and critical reasoning skills in a strategic context and be able to quickly form effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. The person will need to be able to demonstrate a high level of negotiation and conflice resoultion skills.
PREREQUISITES
Successful applicants must have the following:
- Minimum of Bachelor level qualification in a relevant Health and Safety / Rehabilitation / Health Science discipline.
- Demonstrated leadership, management and supervisory experience in a large and complex organisation including the ability to work independently and develop collaborative teams.
- High level written and verbal communication skills which demonstrate the ability to be easily understood by a diverse range of stakeholders.
- A high level of interpersonal skills, including a proven ability to create and sustain relationships and work collaboratively with senior management, colleagues, industry partners and injured employees and volunteers.
- Demonstrated experience in the management of complex injuries/claims and ability to apply analytical and critical reasoning skills.
- Proven track record for staying cool, calm and professional while working in a high pressure, often stressful, environment.
You will be required to provide evidence of the above during your assessment.
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position is a Monday – Friday role based at Cockburn Emergency Services Complex.
You will be required to attend various meetings and appointments with key stakeholders at various locations off-site.
You will be required to hold a current drivers license.
