We’re looking for
A Planning Officer with experience in cycling transport infrastructure projects.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to making Western Australia a place where cycling is safe, connected, convenient, and a widely accepted form of transport. You will draw on your transport planning or engineering experience to manage and deliver on projects arising from the Western Australian Bicycle Network (WABN) Plan.
You will be responsible for the administration and implementation of Regional Bike Network Grants Program, as well as designing and delivering cycling programs with a consultative approach. Your ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders and undertake community engagement and consultation activities in relation to cycling projects will ensure your success in this role.
This is a fixed term contract opportunity for a period of up to two (2) years (to 28 September 2019), with a possibility of extension and/or permanency.
We need someone who can
- Understand the needs of, and issues affecting cyclists and cycling
- Communicate effectively to engage local government, other state government agencies and the community to foster positive cycling outcomes for the State
- Lead and manage complex projects, including preparing and presenting project reports and related budget information
- Use conceptual, research and analytical skills to solve complex problems relating to cycling issues
- Prepare briefing notes and respond to Ministerial Correspondence
- Cultivate strong, productive working relationships and partnerships
