Organisational Context: The Department of Health, led by the Director General, has been established as the System Manager responsible for the overall strategic direction, management and performance of the Western Australian (WA) public health system to ensure the delivery of high-quality, sustainable, safe and timely health services.
The WA public health system employs approximately 43,000 dedicated staff who ensure the health and wellbeing of the State's population throughout the metropolitan, regional and remote areas of WA. The WA health system as a single entity covers an area covering approximately 2.5 million square kilometres.
The foundations that underpin essential services to the community include: supporting our workforce; robust stands for the delivery of high-quality and safe care; sound financial management and clinical performance; infrastructure and information and communications technology (ICT) delivery; and research and innovation.
Role Specific Responsibilities: The Information and System Performance Directorate is undertaking a range of projects to deliver improved business capabilities through core capability application developments.
This role is responsible for designing, coding and modifying websites and web applications, from layout to function and according to client specifications. The role requires creation of visually appealing sites that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation.
Duties will include ensuring system code and documentation is developed and maintained in line with system design guidelines, undertaking unit and integration testing of in-house developed applications. The successful applicant will arrange and assist with training of staff in the use of applications and provide secondary level technical support for in-house developed systems. The role will include processing user requests for changes and enhancements to existing information systems in accordance with governing change management procedures.

Essential:
- Demonstrated experience in analysis, design and development using Microsoft technologies; including in-depth experience with Visual Studio and MVC.
- Capable in the use of data extract and reporting software.
- Strong experience in ASP.NET, C#, HTML, Javascript and CSS development for major browsers and mobile platforms including front-end elements that enable data visualisation and rich user interfaces.
- Experience in Microsoft SQL Server and database design, development and support including SQL Reporting.
- Proven ability to apply knowledge of the customer's functions and processes to develop business requirement documents and translate business needs into IT specific requirements.
- Familiarity with the use of GitLab for both development and release management.

- Knowledge of or track record in agile delivery method.
- Working knowledge of Business Intelligence concepts (e.g. reporting, querying software, OLAP, spreadsheets, dashboards, and data mining).
