Organisational Context: The Department of Health, led by the Director General, has been established as the System Manager responsible for the overall strategic direction, management and performance of the Western Australian (WA) public health system to ensure the delivery of high-quality, sustainable, safe and timely health services.
The WA public health system employs approximately 43,000 dedicated staff who ensure the health and wellbeing of the State's population throughout the metropolitan, regional and remote areas of WA. The WA health system as a single entity covers an area covering approximately 2.5 million square kilometres.
The foundations that underpin essential services to the community include: supporting our workforce; robust stands for the delivery of high-quality and safe care; sound financial management and clinical performance; infrastructure and information and communications technology (ICT) delivery; and research and innovation.
Role Specific Responsibilities: The Information and System Performance Directorate is undertaking a range of projects to deliver improved business capabilities through core capability application developments.
This role provides support to projects and ongoing operational requirements in the Business Systems applications development environment. The successful applicant will be skilled in web development and capable of providing development operations function to support an effective applications development lifecycle.
Duties will include defining, managing, and promoting various development activities for DevOps practices, including working towards continuous integration; delivery, testing, and monitoring. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the BI team to design continuous integration best practices, deploy applications, and automate operations and processes. The role will include development of tools and systems, including APIs, Web portals, databases, and virtual servers that will help deliver high quality software quickly. The position will be responsible for designing, coding and modifying websites, from layout to function and according to a client's specifications.
