We are seeking to establish a pool of Planning Managers with substantial professional planning experience to join the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage. The Department is recruiting to metropolitan and regional planning teams, all based in the Perth office. If you have a degree in urban and regional planning, sustained and demonstrated success in the planning field, and management experience, we encourage you to apply.
In these roles you would be responsible for leading a team with a broad range of responsibilities to deliver on strategic and statutory planning tasks, reporting to the Director General and Western Australian Planning Commission. The Department is seeking leaders that can effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders and will represent the Department professionally and with integrity.

To be successful in this role, you need to demonstrate:
- a degree relevant to Urban and Regional Planning and or Development with substantial experience in the planning field;
- an ability to manage and lead the day-to-day operations of a planning team, involving a wide variety of planning tasks, including guiding and coaching people for present and future success;
- flexibility, initiative and sound judgement when making decisions in complex and challenging circumstances, with the ability to negotiate sensible outcomes and deliver on priorities; and
- the ability to operate in keeping with the Public Sector Code of Ethics and the Department's values.
