Statutory Road Planning Manager
About the Role
The Road Planning and Development Branch lead the delivery of network development, road planning, network definition and project development services for the Western Australian State Road Network. Statutory Planning is an important part of the road planning area and involves significant liaison and collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure that future roads plans are fully integrated, safe and meet the needs of the community and industry.
The Statutory Road Planning Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating a range of functions including, but not limited to; the review and responses to planning referrals, the provision of statutory road planning expertise and managing the integrity of statutory planning road data. The role is a key interface between Main Roads and a range of external stakeholders including land developers and industry bodies, Local Government and other government and regulatory bodies involved in the road planning process.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have comprehensive experience in one or more of the disciplines of planning and design of major roads, statutory planning processes, traffic analysis or transport planning and demonstrated knowledge of the other disciplines. As the role involves significant consultation and liaison with a range of stakeholders across a number of planning activities, your skills in building and managing relationships, problem solving and influencing outcomes will be key to your success. You will also possess strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience in managing employee behaviour, performance and development.

- Planning and design of major roads, and/or statutory planning processes, and/or traffic analysis and transport planning
- Stakeholder relationship management, including negotiation and the facilitation of outcomes
- Managing resources, including human, financial and other organisational resources
