Conditions
This is a part time, fixed term vacancy (0.5FTE), or 38 hours per fortnight for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension/and or permanency. We are also looking to appoint up to 5 Casual Visitor Services Officers and establish a Pool for a period of 18 months from the initial appointment. Applicants deemed suitable will be placed into the pool from which full-time, part-time, casual, fixed term or permanent appointments may be made.
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department of Culture and the Arts Police Record Screening Policy.
Location
This position is located in Geraldton, a bustling coastal town on Western Australia’s Batavia Coast. Blessed with beautiful beaches and warm, sunny weather, Geraldton provides an extensive range of water based recreational and sporting activities, with special emphasis on yachting, surfing and diving.
Job Description
This position is part of a motivated and welcoming visitor services team who provide all front of house functions, to enhance visitors’ experience of the museum. The position interacts with visitors from a range of ages and backgrounds, including small children, school groups, older citizens, people with disabilities or special needs, and international visitors.
The position is also responsible for ensuring visitor safety and protection of the museum’s collections, and contributes to the cleanliness and presentation of museum sites.
