Boyanup Primary School (PS) are seeking an enthusiastic Junior Teacher Years 1-2 to join their team.
Teachers at Boyanup PS provide a curriculum that suits the needs of the whole child, including social-emotional, well-being and academic needs. The school has a high care culture and is striving to build an equally high culture of performance. Suitable applicants will be collaborative and flexible, with a good knowledge of the Western Australian curriculum and how to cater to the needs of both students at educational risk (SAER) and Talented and Gifted Students (TAGS) to ensure academic success for all.
As a You Can Do It school, Boyanup Primary School is seeking teachers with outstanding interpersonal skills who are proficient in delivering strong pastoral care through collaboration with the school community and implementation of the You Can Do It and Mind Up program.
Ideally the successful applicant will have a broad repertoire of effective instructional and classroom management strategies to engage and motivate students, and demonstrated commitment to our current whole school approaches.
Extensive curriculum knowledge and leadership in the core learning areas of literacy and numeracy are highly desired, in addition to a proven capacity to collaborate with colleagues in differentiating the curriculum to meet individual student needs. As such, the successful applicant will also be committed to seeking feedback and engaging in our professional learning community to ensure the successful delivery of a high-quality ‘visible’ curriculum that develops assessment capable learners.
Applicants need to have knowledge of achievement standards, visible learning strategies, cooperative learning strategies, knowledge of PBS, 21st Century Learning pedagogy, effective IT practices and able to work as an effective team member.
It is also highly desirable for suitable applicants to be willing to embrace whole school approaches. Knowledge of Structured Synthetic Phonics, First Steps in English and Mathematics, Primary Connections, Synthetic Phonics, Guided Reading, Brightpath and humanities and social sciences (HASS) is required. Experience with integrating information communication technology (ICT), including iPads into the curriculum, would be beneficial.
Boyanup PS is seeking teachers that are aware of how to analyse data and use it to plan innovative teaching and learning programs contained in the school Business Plan to raise academic results especially in Literacy and Numeracy. Suitable applicants will ideally implement visible learning and explicit teaching practices that involve the provision of learning intentions and success criteria for lessons, in addition to providing effective feedback to students and negotiate goals that support students to become assessment literate learners. The capacity to facilitate learning experiences which maximise the integration of digital technology and STEM across the curriculum will also be favoured considerably.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for fixed term appointments to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
