East Kalgoorlie Primary School (PS) is looking for an exceptional teacher to join its vibrant and successful Early Childhood team. The school has developed a unique Whole Child Learning Sequence mapped to the Australian Curriculum and enhanced with oral language and physical development strands. East Kalgoorlie PS is a family oriented school servicing the entire Kalgoorlie-Boulder area. We have a unique approach based on small nurturing classes and wrap around services. We have been identified as a school demonstrating exemplary performance in the areas of relationships and the learning environment. We are known for our innovative approach to learning for our diverse group of young learners. The school runs a full-time Kindergarten catering for students from three years old. We have a comprehensive early childhood development program embedded into the teaching and learning program. By looking outside the traditional boundaries of schooling and building on the strengths every child brings to the first years of schooling, our objective is to ensure every child reaches their potential.
To be successful in this role you will need to display strong skills in the area of Speech and Occupational Therapy techniques used to enhance learning in the classroom setting. You will demonstrate your ability to work with teachers individually or as a whole of staff to empower them to provide the best learning environment for all children.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for fixed term appointments to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
