Solicitor 12 month Pool Recruitment, Fixed term, Full time opportunities.
This is an opportunity for a solicitor with family law experience to join the Family Law Division of Legal Aid WA. Appointments from the pool may be made across the Family Law Division which includes the Family Law Practice, Domestic Violence Legal Unit, Family Court Duty Lawyer Service and the Children’s Court (Protection) Duty Lawyer Service.
Dependent upon the position, the responsibilities may include managing a file load which may consist of various legal matters for parties and children including family law, child protection or providing duty lawyer, legal advice, minor assistance and urgent applications in a court environment for clients with complex needs.
The successful candidate will have post admission family law experience across protection, family violence and family law, with proven litigation and advocacy experience. You will be required to manage family law matters and have a proven ability to work autonomously and cooperatively in a team environment. Qualification as an Independent Children’s lawyer will be an advantage. Interest in training to become an Independent Children’s Lawyer and Child Representative and experience in working with clients who have experienced family violence will also be highly regarded.
