This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2018 with possible extension and/or permanency
Bateman Primary School (PS) is seeking a dynamic Music teacher capable of engaging our students in a range of musical and drama activities.
This position is initially for 12 months but has the possibility of becoming permanent, depending on decisions made by the school on the direction of its specialist teacher programs.
The successful applicant will be expected to support the implementation of the school business plan, to work and teach in a team environment, be committed to whole school approaches and initiatives and have a strong evidence based approach to teaching. The learning environment that you create is expected to be caring, differentiated, challenging and creative and cater for the range of needs which will see all students learning and progressing.
To be successful in your application you will need to demonstrate proven experience in working collaboratively within a team to develop school-wide programs and processes and high interpersonal and communication skills. The successful applicant will provide a vibrant, engaging and stimulating classroom environment that will support academic, creative and emotional growth, catering for the needs of all children within your classroom.
Bateman PS is located 14km south of the Perth Central Business District and caters for a very multi-cultural clientele from Bateman and surrounding suburbs. The school caters for 280 students from K – 6 and became an Independent Public School in 2017.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for fixed term appointments to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
