The Chief Mental Health Advocate engages Mental Health Advocates under a contract for services and Advocates visit "identified persons" at mental health services (eg authorised mental health wards, psychiatric hostels and emergency departments) or in the community. Whilst the work is challenging, Advocates are rewarded with a culture that is focused on achieving quality outcomes for people in a vulnerable situation.
