Appointment Pool
John Curtin College of the Arts is seeking to establish a pool of outstanding teachers of English for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise within Semester 1, 2018. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within Semester 1, 2018.
It is anticipated that the initial appointments will be a full-time permanent position as well as part-time fixed term positions.
Suitable applicants for these positions will be expert, passionate teachers of English with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. Applicants will need to demonstrate the professional knowledge, understandings and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary school English curriculum and have proven success working with very able students. Teachers with experience teaching Year 12 ATAR English and/or English Literature courses are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated understanding and/or experience teaching gifted and talented students is desirable.
Suitable applicants will support the implementation of the college business plan, work and teach in a team environment, be committed to whole college approaches and initiatives, and have a strong evidence based approach to teaching. Adopting inclusive practices, differentiating the curriculum, and building positive relationships with students, staff and the community are important components of the role. Suitable applicants will have a commitment to supporting the college’s purpose and values, and a willingness to engage in the broader Arts community at the college.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
