This is a pool recruitment process for fixed term, full-time and part-time positions as they arise over a 12 month period from the date of finalisation of the recruitment process.
A current opportunity exists within the Policy and Legislation Branch for up to 24 months to allow for backfill while the substantive occupant is acting elsewhere.
The role
The Principal Policy Officer leads and supervises a number of teams responsible for advising, developing, implementing and evaluating policy and legislation proposals relating to the legislation administered by the Building Commission. These tasks are undertaken in consultation with industry, community groups, local government, government agencies and departmental staff.
This role will manage policy projects and research, analyse issues in the development of appropriate responses, and undertake the preparation of high level advice and correspondence relating to building policy matters.
The Principal Policy Officer will be expected to lead the implementation of policy projects and proposals for legislative change, represent the Building Commission in meetings and events and contribute to the provision of information and education to the community and industry.
Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be appointed to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our department for the life of the pool from the date of finalisation of the recruitment process.
