Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may be used to fill other similar vacancies that arise within the next 12 months. Remuneration package of up to $145,486 per annum*
*Remuneration is based on salary, superannuation, attraction and retention incentive (ARI) payments and milestone payments received on the achievement of performance indicators. ARI payments are subject to annual review which may result in a rise or fall in the value of these payments from 1 July 2017.
The position
Already an experienced professional in the field of occupational safety and health, you will have extensive mining industry knowledge, an ability to promote personal integrity, and to drive and support a sense of purpose and direction.
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Inspector of Mines – OSH is an integral player within a multi-disciplinary team which will support WA safety management reforms across the mining sector.
You will possess a genuine commitment to deliver high-quality regulatory services, hands-on change management experience, and the ability to develop the capacity of others through effective mentoring.
The positions are located in Perth, Collie and Kalgoorlie.
Job Requirements/Capabilities
To undertake this role successfully you require:
- Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety (OSH), OR Diploma of Work Health and Safety (WHS), OR other relevant qualification that is equivalent to OR higher than the above-mentioned basic qualification.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the practical application of occupational safety and health legislation, safety issues, and/or risk management principles within the resources sector.
- Experience and skills in investigations managing emerging issues changes and projects.
- Demonstrated ability to listen, understand and adapt to communication style and message to suit a range of audiences including the ability to negotiate effectively and convey information and structures via written and oral communication.
