Appointment Pool
Are you a creative and innovative teacher who strives to enhance their student’s educational outcomes?
Canning College are seeking to establish a pool of experienced Mathematics Teachers for appointments to fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2017 school year. Placements can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2017 school year.
To be suitable for this position, the teacher will need to have the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to teach Mathematics up to year 12 level. The successful applicant will ideally have recent experience teaching ATAR Year 11 and Year 12 Mathematics Units. It is highly desirable that the applicant will have taught Mathematics Specialist Units. It is desirable that the applicant can demonstrate an awareness of cross cultural issues.
Canning College is an Independent Public School with a concise plan for development in the local and the international arena. The College is the leading provider of international education within the Department of Education and enrols approximately 450 international students and 600 local students each year. Canning College provides a unique suite of curriculum, much of it developed in conjunction with the Western Australian universities.
Every year 200–300 College graduates progress to university. Besides university entrance programs, Canning College also offers Year 11 and Bridging preparation courses leading to Year 11 and 12 programs. The College has intakes of students four times a year and the exact teaching needs are often not known until very close to the starting date of each intake.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
