This is a Permanent Part Time appointment at 60.8 hours per fortnight working Monday – Friday.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
Position Profile: The position is in the Geriatrics Evaluation Management (GEM) Unit, which is a 14 bed subacute ward for aged persons with a LOS of 10 days of which 80% of the patients are discharged home. It is a fast paced acute aged care ward with several discharges every day. Emphasis is on acute assessment, timely and targeted interventions and safe and effective discharge planning. An outstanding permanent opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and committed Senior Occupational Therapist (0.8FTE) who is committed to teaching OT students as well as developing the OT service in this dynamic unit. This innovative unit with a strong focus on evidence based multidisciplinary practice and is committed to patient centred rehabilitation care and research. The ward is part of an Occupational Therapy teaching model where there is continual year round students running student-led groups.
Area Profile: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) is one of Australia's leading teaching tertiary hospitals. Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre 4km from Perth city centre, SCGH provides a comprehensive range of clinical service including trauma, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, general medicine, general surgery and cardiac care. It is home to WA's largest cancer treatment centre in the State - and is the State's principal hospital for neurosurgery and liver transplants.
