This is a pool recruitment process for fixed term positions as they arise over a 12 month period from the date of finalisation of the recruitment process.
A current opportunity within the Licensing Branch for 3 months with the possibility of extension to a maximum of 18 months is available.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be appointed to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our division for the life of the pool from the date of finalisation of the recruitment process. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
The role
As a delegate of the Commissioner for Consumer Protection, the Senior Licensing Officer assesses and processes complex business licence applications by Employment Agents, Land Valuer’s, Real Estate and Settlement Agents and is responsible for ensuring that licensing applications are processed in accordance with the relevant legislation, departmental policies and procedures.
The Senior Licensing Officer assists the Licensing Coordinator and Licensing Manager to assess recommendations of licensing staff and is also responsible for the integrity information in the complaints and Licensing System database by ensuring information is up to date and accurate. The Senior Licensing Officer also supervises licensing staff and is responsible for the performance and efficiency of staff within the section. This includes ensuring staff have the appropriate training and assuming responsibility for performance management.
