The Learning and Professional Development Directorate plays a key role in the achievement of the Department’s vision of Right People – Trained Right by developing and delivering a range of essential training services.
The Learning and Professional Development Directorate is seeking an experienced and innovative Training Officer who will be responsible for the delivery, coordination and supervision of training for all Departmental staff, with an emphasis on those from Adult Community Corrections.
Role
Some of the key responsibilities of your position include:

Assistance in the preparation of training schedules and training programs for training and refresher courses required for operational and non-operational staff working in operational areas.

Assistance to Probationary Officers on commencement as well as ongoing training support following the completion of the foundation training.

Participating in the assessment of the Probationary Officer’s performance prior to the completion of the probationary period and forming a recommendation for approval to transition to Officer status based on Probationary Officer’s performance and competency.

Assistance in developing training manuals and education materials.

Work collaboratively to achieve common goals and best practice and facilitate business improvements as appropriate.
