Warnbro Community High School Education Support Centre (CHS ESC) is seeking an enthusiastic Student Support Officer to join their dynamic team.
The Student Support Officer works as part of the Wellbeing Team to provide support for teachers and Education Assistants to build staff capacity to work with students who have a range of complex behaviours.
The successful applicant will have expertise in functional behaviour analysis, goal setting and implementing behaviour interventions as part of a team. The applicant will also have expertise in implementing whole school approaches to positive behaviour support, positive education and Team Teach, as well as the ability to collaborate with others in a team environment.

Warnbro CHS ESC is a school for students with intellectual disabilities co-located with the Warnbro Community High School site. Our two schools work collaboratively together and Education Support students and staff share equal citizenship of both schools. Students share the same school uniform, the same behaviour expectations and are equal members of the Warnbro school community. Our school consists of students in years 7-13.
The school is located in the southern corridor of Perth, fifty (50) kilometres from the Perth CBD. The area is one of rapid growth, feeding the expanding communities of Mandurah, Rockingham and Baldivis. The community of Warnbro continues to play a key role in the shaping of both schools.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be appointed to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships.
- Effective planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing prioritises within timelines.
- Good research, conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to identify problems and provide solutions.
- Skills and expertise in working with individual or small groups of students experiencing difficulties.
- Knowledge of the youth sector, particularly local organisations and services.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment: and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
