Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
Position Profile: We are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and enthusiastic person to the position of Consultant – Paediatrics – Peridontistry. The successful candidate should be suitably skilled and trained in Paediatric Periodontics with excellent leadership and clinical skills. Applicants must be eligible for registration with AHPRA. These positions provide clinical service and management of patients in the Dental Medicine Department. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching and research both at undergraduate and post graduate level.
Area Profile: The $1.2 billion Perth Children's Hospital is being built on the QEII Medical Centre site in Nedlands and will replace Princess Margaret Hospital as the State's dedicated children's hospital. The PCH will have 298 beds, 48 more than PMH and the design of the building allows for future expansion.
All specialist services currently provided by PMH will be available at the new PCH, with many clinical areas expanded including an increase in neonatal and oncology capacity, an expanded Surgical Day Stay Unit and the introduction of a High Dependency Unit alongside the Intensive Care Unit. The PCH will also have all the necessary specialised equipment for treatment and diagnosis, plus the teaching and research facilities staff need to meet their learning requirements.
