Booragoon Primary School (PS) is currently seeking a reliable and team orientated individual to join their team in the role of Cleaner in Charge.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the organising and supervising of school cleaning staff, including arranging relief staff, job inductions for new staff, liaising with the relevant line manager on cleaning matters, carrying out cleaning of internal and external areas and ensuring emptying of all rubbish containers. You would also be responsible for highlighting issues and concerns on behalf of cleaners and respond to issues raised by other school staff. Previous school experience would be an advantage.
Booragoon PS is in the South Metropolitan suburb of Booragoon. The school was established in 1967 and is located in a bush setting close to historical Wireless Hill Reserve. It is a local intake school with students attending from the suburbs of Booragoon and nearby Alfred Cove. The current enrolment is 409 students from Kindergarten to Year Six.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be appointed to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a ten (10) day breach period to this selection process.
