POOL RECRUITMENT
The pool recruitment will operate for eighteen (18) months from the date of the initial selection of the pool.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made as they arise.

About the Role
This position participates as a senior member of the Early Years Metro Team to provide family systems therapy to children with an intellectual disability, using family centred practice. Family Systems interventions are family-centred, strength-based, short-term interventions incorporating working with the family to assist them to resolve issues impacting on family functioning as it relates to the care of the child with a disability. This position contributes professional skills and knowledge to enhance team functioning and encourage positive results for children and families.

- Extensive experience in using a range of models and strategies to assess, plan, implement and evaluate family systems intervention.
- Extensive experience and understanding of relationship issues, attachment theory, the vulnerability of children with an intellectual disability and the impact of disability on family functioning.
- Understanding and commitment to evidence based practice and continuous improvement, including clinical support and mentoring.
- Advanced skills in working in an interdisciplinary team.
- Qualifications Essential (one of the following)
- Tertiary degree qualification in Social Work AND eligible for ‘Ordinary Membership’ with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
-Tertiary degree qualification in Psychology AND eligible for ‘General Registration’ on the register of Psychologists with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Tertiary degree qualification in Occupational Therapy AND eligible for ‘General Registration’ on the register of Occupational Therapists’ with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Special requirements
- Appointment is subject to a satisfactory National Police Clearance
- A Working with Children (WWC) Check may be required
- The ability to travel in response to organisational needs.
